I have used ee number (PAYG) since October 2021. Unfortunately, my phone was stolen last week and I went to the nearest ee branch to get a replacement sim. They gave me a monthly plan for 1 year contract instead of PAYG that I requested. The problem is that I have to go back to my country in next 2 weeks, so I ask them to cancel this contract. They said they cannot do it for me.
So, if I would like to transfer this number to my friend before I leave UK. I am not sure that how you count the period of contract on ee. Does it count from PAYG or have to start the new period from monthly plan?
I have to leave UK before 3 months, so is it possible to transfer the number to my friend before 3 months? Or can I use the email instead of calling ee call center to change the owner name? It is impossible for me and my friend to stay in the same place after 3 months.
Thanks

@birdy_birdday to change ownership of the contract you need to call customer services to request this it’s also advisable to have that person with you who is taking ownership as they will need to agree to take ownership of that contract they will also need to pass his credit check before they get handed this contract.
Your contract started the moment you took it out it has nothing to do with your pay-as-you-go history with EE.
also if you wanted a pay-as-you-go and not a contract why did you agree to it ? You can say no to the contract and you didn’t have to take it.
