Hi, I cancelled the contract beginning of the month, but forgot to cancel the direct debit, so I was charged again, this morning. How can I go about requesting a refund please?

Following what @Chris_B said, your final bill after porting out (when out of minimum term) would usually be a credit refund for any unused days as you pay ahead.

Before contacting Customer Service, it's worth viewing your bill online to check if it's a bill asking for payment or a final bill showing a credit that will be returned to you.

You can find out more on our Your final EE Mobile bill page.

@Dan535  how did you cancel this contract and what this contract was this for ?  if it was for a phone contract and you cancelled before your billing date you give 30 days notice to Cancel and if you receive a bill in that timeframe you will still pay this but you will be refunded the remaining days of that contract after the 30 days notice.

Ie if you pay your bill on the 17th but gave notice on the 1st of November your contract will terminate on the 1st of December but you’ll still pay the bill for the next month but you’ll be refunded from the 18th to the 1st of December.   This is why you don’t terminate the DD straight the way and it’s a good job you didn’t otherwise you could find yourself with a bad credit rating for failing to pay your bill on time.   Contracts don’t just end on the date you give notice there is a 30 day notice period.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

It was a phone contract that had expired in the spring, I switched to a different provider and ported the number there. I didn't give a formal notice, as I was out of the contract period.
In my case, I paid the bill on the 17th of Oct, switched providers and ported the number round 7th of November. I was still billed today for my contract though. My question then is why was I billed again and what and when will be refunded?

@Dan535  Something not right here.  You paid on the 17th Oct and ported out on the 7th of November so you paid the month ahead and should be getting a refund from the port out date to the billing date of November.    You need to call customer support about this as you shouldn’t be getting a bill but a refund from the port out date to the billing date. (7th - 17th)

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Thank for you help @Chris_B , I'll do just that.
