14 days to cancel??

Hello, my partner and I signed up (over the phone) for new contracts 13 days ago. We have two problems, the first is that the SIMs have not arrived. Our post is being re-directed to our project in France but 13 days is totally abnormal for things to reach us.

Question 1. Can we cancel the new contracts free of charge and deal with this when we are back in the UK in 3 weeks time?

Also during the last week I asked a question under "3G plan ending" on this forum as to whether we could even activate the new SIMs in France. We were assured more than once during the call to sign up for the new plan that we could do so. Since then we saw some comments on here that it is not possible to activate the SIMs while abroad.

Question 2. IF the SIMs did ever arrive, can we activate them here in France?

Question 3 (sorry) If the Sims arrive and we can't activate them here in France, how long will the activation wait? ie can we activate them in 3 weeks time when we are back?

Thanks in advance......

Question 1

Yes you need to call to request these cancelled if you ordered over the phone you have the 14 day cooling off period.

Question 2.

No they need to be activated in the UK as EE is a UK network

Question 3

They will wait until you activate them, there is no time limit.

Did you have a UK address they were being sent to? EE will not ship abroad so if you opted for them to be delivered to France from EE then they won't arrive.

There si also been postal strikes in the UK so there is now a backlog, the recent strikes last week were called off because of the death of Queen Elizabeth but they are still delayed because of it.

Thanks for the reply, when does the 14 days start, presumably from the time we signed up? Or is it from activation?

It starts from the time you signed up so if you are on Day 13 now then call today to cancel

The 14-day statutory cooling-off period starts when they are delivered to your registered UK addy, whether you are there or not.
