Hello @Aimi1 ,
Welcome to the community,
It appears that you are on a legacy internet, so you would have to request an upgrade to a faster speed if you so wish..
You can check here:
https://ee.co.uk/broadband/fibre-broadband and here :https://ee.co.uk/broadband/full-fibre

@Aimi1 I think you’ll find that you have a guarantee that when fibre broadband is installed in your area, you can upgrade to this without charge, but obviously that might mean a new tariff and that could cost more. You don’t get faster speeds and expect to pay the same cost as fibre essentials 36.

@Aimi1 : OR won't upgrade your cables to Full Fibre unless you have ordered Full Fibre from some ISP. EE won't auto upgrade your existing FTTC plan to Full Fibre unless you ask them to. You would certainly have the option of faster speeds if you did go for Full Fibre.
Anyway do you know whether you can get Full Fibre in your area? What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker estimate for your phone number? Post the whole table and the line above it, blanking out your phone number. If it doesn't recognise your phone number or you don't have one, use the Address Checker.
