WiFi extender 6 won't connect

Hello. We have a WiFi extender 6 but I can't seem to get it to connect anymore. It was previously connected to a smart hub 3 which had the apparently common issue where the power pack stops working so it was replaced with a smart hub 2. Since then I've tried to connect the extender but no joy. I've pressed the reset button on the back and it powers on, flashes green, then red, then I press wps and it flashes blue. Press wps on the hub and it stays blue for a while and then eventually back to red.

I've tried connecting via ethernet as well and nothing happens there either. Is the extender fried? What else can I do?

I presume the "WiFi extender 6" is an EE Smart WiFi 6 Plus.

But what are the Smart Hub 2 & 3? EE routers are not generally known by those names. Which EE router & WiFi extenders, if any, do you have (read label or post a pix)? What is the name of the EE BB plan you are on including its speed?

Sorry, it had been referred to as that previously. We had the smart hub that was compatible with WiFi 6 and after it had an issue it was replaced with the smart hub that's compatible with WiFi 5 only. Does the extender for WiFi 6 work with the hub for WiFi 5?

No, but I can only guess if you won't post what's written on the labels.

The Smart WiFi 6 Plus (SW30A) is intended to work with the Smart Hub 6 Plus (SH3xB) & will not work with the Smart Hub (2023) (SH20A).

I was unable to post the label as I wasn't at home, I was not electing to be difficult 🙂

It is an SH20A so thank you for your help. I will contact EE to ask why they replaced my broken WiFi 6 hub with a WiFi 5 hub that doesn't work with the WiFi extender they're charging me for. Have a fantastic day
