Why do engineer visits take so long?

Hi all

I'm just here to let off some steam here as I’ve had enough of waiting for EE to install my broadband.

My order was made on 22 March which isn’t in grand scheme of things not a very long time ago however it’s just annoying when the date is moved onwards and onwards. The only indication I’ve had that things are moving is a package which the contents were a cat5e Ethernet cable and instructions.

Anyone else in the same boat!!

@Lord-Stead It is unfortunate but it happens, delays for whatever reason compound. The only good thing is hopefully you have a working internet until the Fibre switchover and that goes real smooth. Been there done that and got all the same problems.

It seems I am! Installation was put back to today, 23/4/25, but no one has turned up as of 3pm so I assume that's that for today. Had multiple confirmations of the visit to carry out the install. If I don't go to work I don't get paid so it seems today has been a costly waste of time. No contact from EE. Not the best 1st impression.

@skunky_1 The way it went, e-mail and text from EE CS call to re-schedule the next day, did that and was given next available and that was 21 day's later, as i had fttc running ok so was just the pure inconvenience of the wait period again, multiples of texts etc from EE during the 21 day's (Your install will be cancelled if you do not let us know) called every time never got to the bottom off it, computer generated glitch, day off install OR engineer's called your install has been cancelled, but as we know it is not we have resurrected the order our end, be with you later see you this afternoon, trust us, they came done and dusted.

EE all jumped on the band wagon, back charged me the uplift price for NOT having the service so later had to fight more battles with them, tried hard to exhaust me but that was never going to happen.

You never know, they just may turn up and get on with it. Do keep us posted though.👍

Turned up, he was a great lad, all installed but I'm gonna be
checking speeds over the next few days as I'm down 50mbps now, and the
wonder coverage doesn't seem particularly wonderful. It's got 7 days to
improve until I cancel.

Have you run the EE speedtest from the app?
