Sorry hit the wrong tab before I added my problem. See below reply to a similar issue.
Sorry can’t help with your problem but can sympathise as we are currently going through a similar issue. Five smart hub plus routers on and still it doesn’t work all the time, we have had 5 engineers out to see what the issue is again still fighting poor wifi. With a smart house, Ring CCTV, smart TV’s, Nest heating and a Ring alarm system it’s been a nightmare. We stopped the direct debit (£91.90) and now we are getting the usual calls and emails , laughing they phoned us on the connected landline which also fails regularly so all in all its been a terrible experience. So with my background in electronics (25 years Royal Navy and 22 years oilfield maintenance engineer) I have concluded the equipment supplied is shoddy to say the least and the fault finding skills of the engineers is questionable but to be fair they wouldn’t bad mouth their companies equipment would they! So looking to find another broadband supplier which is a shame as we stuck with BT for over 40 years, any suggestions would be appreciated.

@Johnrtwigg You would be better to explain layout and equipment that you have, Installed EE Smarthub+ Back in Mar, upgraded to fttp in Nov and still got the same EE Router, it's not the best ISP router, and certainly not the worst, but it works functions, so expect that you have something going on!

We have a 200 year old house with thick walls and large rooms, the old BT hub and three discs worked well then we had to change to the new EE layout. It consists of a Smart Hub plus (Wifi 6) and three Smart Wifi Plus modules we were also supplied with a Smart Hybrid Connect module but that never ever paired with any of the 5 hubs that we have gone through. Two of the Openreach engineers replaced some of the external connection equipment one did the incoming box and one replaced the node at the outside local cabinet. Two other engineers set up all the inside equipment at different times one has been back twice, after getting the 5th new hub I did it myself. After all this it still drops out usually early night time and during the early morning (my Ring alarm system goes to 4g backup). You cannot watch a movie on the Firestick without it dropping out several times and my Ring CCTV system cant connect to these new plus modules as the wifi signal strength is too low. I still maintain these new hubs are very poor quality!

@Johnrtwigg On the EE Smarthub+ bottom of the router there is a label, it's possible that you have the SH31B if fttc copper wire connected on a vdsl line but can be used on the other also, or a direct FF SH32B only used on that type of connection, it is a guessing game until you tell us what you have. The extenders will all be SW30A designed to be used for the SH31 range.
The EE tech is not the same as the BT for sure, some say better and some say worse. The EE Smarthub+ is not the best ISP supplied router, but it does what it say's on the tin. All of the information that you supply is relevant, we are just customers like your self, trying to help or guide out issue's. If you still have all your BT equipment you can put it back, it all works on the EE system, landline may be an issue and you do not mention that.
Correct EE router model, Smart wireless model, and the speed package that you have all helps. Even if when you have a problem does the EE router led change from it's aqua to orange, will watch for the reply. Jim
