Smart Hub Pro - how to sub-net the WiFI SSIDs in the absence of VLAN capability

I had hoped that my new Smart Hub PRO router would have had VLAN capabilities to help me on my journey to better control the isolation of IOT devices, guest WiFi and other 'levels' of access to network resources I have.  However, it appears there is no VLAN capability in the not-so-smart Hub Pro.

Another way to help with segmentation is sub-netting.  The 'guest' wifi is automatically assigned a subnet of 10.100.100.0/24, but the 'compatibility' WIFI is still on the main subnet of the router (i.e. the default 192.168.1.0/24).

Has anyone figured a way how the Smart Hub Pro can provide additional sub-netting capabilities if there is no VLAN tagging nor inter-VLAN routing capability?

@Mr_Incredible You will need to purchase a wireless AP with Vlan support to do what you require, as said the Pro router does not support Vlan in any format what so ever.

I already have a 'cheap' £25 Tp-Link 2.4Ghz AP that supports up to 4 SSIDs and associated VLANS.  Might need a beefier 5GHz or 6 or 6e AP, but TBH a well placed 5G AP with an ethernet backhaul should be fine for what I need.  ANd by the sounds of it I would need a L3 switch/router if I wanted inter-VLAN links, such as allowing a guest wifi to hook up to internal Emby server.  Even without VLANS, the poor/lack of of sub-net capabilities  could be tricky or impossible to achieve!

I've been tinkering in a 'lab' set up trying to figure out VLANS/DHCP sub-nets and the like.  I can't remember the last time I flashed my old Netgear WNDR3700V1 with so many images of DD-WRT and OpenWRT!

@Mr_Incredible Chasing each other around different post's but TP do some pretty decent Network gear, and if i remember they are bringing out some newer AP at least in wifi6 not sure if they plan further but no doubt will, do have a tendency to stick feature wise, but always worth having a look see especially if they do have a download manual.👍
