Hi,
Think I’ve made a mistake.
Just exchanged on first home, due to complete and get keys in two weeks.
Heard some horror stories of people waiting weeks and months to get their router and internet sorted, so thought I’d be quick and sign up for my EE Broadband this evening to just allow for any delays in getting router to new home, if it turns up a few days before moving can just let sellers know to keep an eye out and leave it there for me.
Now however, I’m confused! Signed up this evening, but no internet start date, no date router will due to arrive, also I’m now reading about an activation date? Can I pick the activation date, as don’t want it to be when I haven’t even got the keys, or can I activate the it any time after the activation date? Will this effect the people currently living there?
Any help would be great, think I might have been a bit too eager!
Thanks!

@Elouber yes you can pick a date for your install, however:
1. If the present occupier has cancelled their service, EE, or anyone else. will be able to place ab order until the cease completes.
2. There is available capacity for the service you require.
Give CS a call in the morning, let them know what you want and they will do what they can.
All that other info will follow in a day or three, except for the router, which is normally posted a day or two before the install.

@Elouber : OTOH if EE start your order & the present occupiers will be informed by their ISP that someone unnamed (you) is trying to take over their line before you move in, the present occupiers could very well tell their ISP to stop it if they wanted to be sure to keep their BB to the end. So you need to come to an agreement with the present occupiers.
However you should be safe as it usually takes at least 2 weeks from order to installation.
To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone
