Morning Everyone,
After waiting for any news, I saw that the new WiFi 7 is being advertised and the Smart Home Pro is available.
So I’ve signed up for the 1.6Gb package which includes the WiFi 7 Router.
I will update this post once I receive everything and I’ll do a full review.
I get the new iPhone 16 Pro Max this Friday on launch which is WiFi 7 so I’ll be able to test out the new WiFi capabilities and then I’ll do a wired test to my gaming PC.
Estimated Date for equipment = 28 September 2024
Date for Installation - 2nd October 2024 - 8am to 1pm.
Although I don’t need an engineer as I have everything in place from my previous internet so will see if I can just plug in myself 😄

Hi Bob I should have said Smart Hub Pro pair instead of new router. Why would anyone just want the router when the extender is being offered with it?
Why does a smart phone ever need to receive data at nearly 6gbps? Pulling data at such speeds would make the phone a good hand warmer in winter!!

@Ewan15 right, so the pair is not visible? Just the Smart WiFi Plus add-on? Seems there are others on similar packages to yours who have seen it, so I wonder if there's something specific about your account that's preventing it 🤔

There was a time when people would have questioned the need to have any sort of Internet connection on a phone 😉
The link speed isn't a direct translation to throughput by the way. For max throughput, roughly half the link speed. Still massive though!

Hi @Ewan15 @Colesey it maybe that they have added it for me due to all the complaints I've made and being on the phone with then yesterday for over an hour, obviously they won't want to admit to doing anything as they probably think I'm a typical moaning customer 😆, but as long as the order goes through I'm happy, all I can suggest is you keep on at them, when I called up I went through to upgrades, I've attached what I got last night when checking I was surprised seeing they said I wasn't;t able to get it

Yes,
Mine is getting done this morning!
How long does the upgrade take?
I had the 900 one installed 18 months ago,
How simple / easy is it for an engineer to swap to the newer one?

@Colesey This is what I did pal, it may be worth a trying, go the EE website and sign in, then go to shop and broadband, you should see a link that says "See Renewal Deals" click this and you will then see your current plan and other available, on your current plan click "Keep Current Plan" and the add-on options then appear below, I had 4 add ons available Wifi 7 hub was the first one, click Add then check out and agreed to the t&cs and it raised the order. Says Friday delivery on mine now.

@iammbuk i only joined EE in July and it says there’s an error when I press the renewal deals button which I expect as I’m only 3 months into a 24 month contract😂

@Colesey Think that has to be 6 months with EE, may have seen it in terms and conditions.🤔

@Colesey I'd just keep checking periodically I'm sure you will get the option, I signed up for full fibre in March but wasn't installed until the end of May the renewal options started to show around July time
