Morning Everyone,

After waiting for any news, I saw that the new WiFi 7 is being advertised and the Smart Home Pro is available.

So I’ve signed up for the 1.6Gb package which includes the WiFi 7 Router.

I will update this post once I receive everything and I’ll do a full review.

I get the new iPhone 16 Pro Max this Friday on launch which is WiFi 7 so I’ll be able to test out the new WiFi capabilities and then I’ll do a wired test to my gaming PC.

Estimated Date for equipment = 28 September 2024

Date for Installation - 2nd October 2024 - 8am to 1pm.

Although I don’t need an engineer as I have everything in place from my previous internet so will see if I can just plug in myself 😄

Yeah, which is exactly why I held off until now,

I have a WiFi 7 Device and a PC capable of maxing it out,

And EE finally made the hardware available.

I’ve known from past experiences that being an existing customer means you’re often left behind for new tech. I ensured I’d sign up as a new user.

With VM, I had access to 1.2Gb anyway on their service so for my personal situation, and it’s only £33 a month,  it wasn’t really noticeable to hold out. Can appreciate if BT is your only option though.

@iammbuk So I called up and spoke to numerous advisors…apparently the Wi-Fi 7 add on isn’t showing up on my account and can’t add it. What a joke

@Colesey Is it maybe blocked because of TV?

@JimM11 no idea tbh, I was hit with it’s not showing as an available add-on on your account and then WiFi 7 isn’t available in my area😂 😂 EE really need to properly train their guides as they all say different things. On the plus side I’ve got out of paying for smart WiFi plus for 24 months as I didn’t really need it. I can imagine over time it will be available.

@Colesey Wish i had captured the screens now as i skipped through my upgrade to fttp, WiFi7 is just a feature of available addon equipment, was available to my package but as i said Asus user and no requirement for such need.

Free as a (router and smart wireless) with the 2 top speed packages that encompass 1.6Gb/s speeds.

@Colesey Sorry to hear that pretty much the same position as me then and I would agree not all the guides are fully trained with the even basics and really hate having to call them

Were you renewing or a brand new customer?

I have to use the EE equipment as I need a landline and EE TV is by far the cheapest way to get all the sport.

@iammbuk Two Asus XT8 in AI mesh mode to the EE Smarthub+ Primary router, RP-AX58 RE mode to the EE also, and Tp-Link powerline also to the EE, wired (single) and wireless (dual) modes.
