Hi, on my second hybrid connect now, I can get it to connect to the pro hub with an ethernet cable but as soon as I unplug it to move it the aqua light starts flashing and loses connection to the main hub, EE customer service has been  no help, any ideas folks? Tia

Good afternoon @Woodcraft1.

Welcome to the EE Community!

When you're setting this up via the Ethernet, is the EE logo going solid aqua, and does it stay this way if you unplug it but leave it next to the Hub?

How far away are you moving this when it starts flashing too?

Usually a flashing aqua light would indicate pairing with your Hub, which can take up to 5 minutes.

Peter

Hi,

When I set it up with the wired cable it goes solid aqua everytime, as soon as I unplug it it starts to flash aqua even without moving the hybrid connect an inch

Thanks

Mark

@Woodcraft1  I believe it is meant to flash when you unplug the Ethernet.

There is no magic in it.

1. You plug it into the Ethernet to start with as a sure fire way that your Hybrid Connect will be recognised and the system knows it exists. (This can be done with WiFi immediately by using the WPS button on hub and hybrid to pair - doesn’t have to be done via Ethernet). You can keep it connected to Ethernet if you like.

2. If you need it wireless then you unplug it from the Ethernet and it will start flashing as it then attempts to re-find the hub again but this time over WiFi. This can take up to 7 minutes or so I have found. It is not the fastest thing in the world.

3. The light will go solid when it has reconnected over WiFi.

Thats the thing it never goes back solid aqua once it's unplugged from the ethernet, I've left it several days and it's still flashing, it also disappears from the EE app once it's unplugged

@Woodcraft1 From your opening post, you have the Hybrid connect but also the New Pro router, try to establish that the hybrid works totally as expected when you have them both connected via Ethernet together, Up working NO flashing lights, disconnect the WAN cable from the Back of the Router and see that the Hybrid picks up and establishes BB connection after it's time period and Lights turn to the correct colours etc.

If it does so then Hybrid is good, EE router is good (Network Connected), and the issue is with the Router or the Hybrid in the wireless connection mode only...

Yes if connected via ethernet cable then all works as it should, once disconnected the hybrid loses this connection and goes back to flashing aqua and has no bb connection, 4g has 1 bar hence the need for me to move it to a better position to get an improved 4g signal

@Woodcraft1 If you have established that the unit works 100% correct when connected via the Ethernet, then the problem is with how the Hybrid is trying to connect wireless to the Pro router, you can keep throwing Hybrid units at it but will not solve the issue, and would be the same with Pro Routers. EE CS and report that the Hybrid works great wired, but will not work Wirelessly, Understand that you need to move to get a better 4g signal, its just the combination of Hybrid/Pro, something just not 100% correct for the operation....

Would base the hybrid connected and no further away from the Pro router say 20 foot and see if it connects if at all, over wireless signal, @WillKirk estimated say up to 10 minutes to see if it can establish a wifi connection.

Thats exactly what I've done, the hybrid is approx 8 feet away from the hub and has been there around 5 days and is still flashing as I write this message, it seems to me that they are not suitable as a wireless unit only wired, I've seen posts where EE have sent 6 hybrid units out to one customer and he still cannot get a wireless connection
