Help with optic wire

LaurenR84
Visitor

BT open reach left a big hole in the wall behind the installation a mouse has chewed the fibre optic wire and we have had no broadband. I work from home and have had to pay over £100 on my own phone to support this

can you help? The smart hub will not work now

I'm afraid a severed fibre optic is not an easy fix. Your only course of action is to take multiple pictures of the shoddy work and contact openreach support stating just how disgusted you are with the quality of installation , the negative impact it has had on your business productivity and your mental health.  Hopefully an emergency repair can be arranged ASAP , but make sure you stress to them the utter inconvenience caused by their incompetence and sheer unprofessional behaviour.  Good luck,  give em hell

Thanks for coming to the community.

I'm really sorry to hear of your experience with the installation and now have no broadband connection.

Our Report Damage or Hazards to Cables, Poles, Cabinets and Manholes page has information and contact information for Openreach and our broadband guides.

Please let us know how you get on.

Leanne.
