i recently upgraded to the EE smart hub pro (7) and all is fine apart from my HP Envy printer wont connect. the report says mac address filtering may be enabled. ive tried everything there's no option for disable it. the printer detects router and starts to connect via password or wps button then says failed to connect. ive even tried the HP smart app the problem seems to do with filtering? i dont want to go and buy a new HP printer if that does the same thing. any help appreciated

Thanks for this workaround. I couldn't connect my HP Envy after a router factory reset, until I followed your solution.

Ok, firstly let’s go logical. There are two types of printers. Most are on 2.4MHz but the newer ones can be on 5MHz. This causes compatibility issues with new v7 Hubs. So, here we go: unsafe mode website click on accessing it by weedling around certificate gumph on 192.168.1.254 then scroll to Advanced Settings. Then Compatible WiFi. Then EE ———COMP channel should be there. Set a password and save at the top of page.
This should then stay there on hub unless reset. My printer didn’t recognise this with COMP password initially but then started printing! Bizarre! When I connected the printer to this channel!

@Riscosman 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz are the two main wireless wifi bands, and possible third but NOT always the 6Ghz band for wifi6e routers, and some wifi7 ones! Compatibility is nothing to do with wifi6/7 or anything off the sort!
After a wireless mode change it is always advisable to power off reset the router to force and activate the change correctly.
