Final bill for too long after notice

Hi I phoned up to notify I was leaving at the end of my contract(30th October) on the 30th september. I have my new services to go live on the 30th October.

I recieved a bill today for an entire month (15th October-15th November) so 16 days past my leave date. The price has increased but I believe that is because my contract ends and I had a £5 discount that runs out so that's why the increase of £3.84 is seen.

My contract is due to end 30th October. I have the new services go live then. Will EE resubmit a final bill before they take that final direct debit? I have to pay my first bill soon after the go live date for the new service I've had. Surely I should only pay from the 15th-30th so about half (minus the increase). If they take the full like £70 at the end of this month it will be a nightmare for me.

Can anyone advise? I would phone but I'm on a course until 5pm so figure I'd get some advice from the forums before I phone. Or ideally find out so I don't have to phone at all.

@gazza1988   first of all that is not your final bill, it is just your normal monthly bill.

You final bill will not be produced until after you have left, given the timings it should be before your next normal monthly cycle bill, and the extra day you have paid for will be refunded. Don't close your direct debit until after you get your actual final bill and thr rebate has been processed, unless you want to delay things further.

Thanks for that I did wonder. It's a bit rubbish that I've said I'm leaving but I'm going to be charged anyway and then refunded later on down the line.

I could understand it if I never said anything but its not like it's a massive shock.

I'll have to ring them to see if there's anything that can be done. I can't feed my kids the bill and frankly overpaying services used  by double is taking the mick
