Fibre broadband and landline

Morning all

My present basic broadband package is about to expire

EE have  mailed suggesting....

Fibre Broadband with landline

 • Average download speed 36Mb/s
 • Landline
 • Landline with PAYG Calls
 • 24 month contract

...which is adequate for my needs and retains the present landline and number as or the time being , that is essential.

I presently have an EE Smart Hub getting about 36Mbs.

I am unable to find the finer details of this package and trying to understand exactly what  "Fibre broadband and landline  means".

Does this suggest fibre to the pole outside [which is already full fibre ready] then from there into the house nothing changes? ie I don't need engineer visit of new Hub?

Any thoughts please or , ideally a link to this specific package , which seems rather illusive .I have already checked links to available packages but this one doesn't feature

Many thanks.

John

It sounds to me it is exactly what you already have, no change, just a new contract.

FTTP is Fibre To The Premises, I don't believe EE offer it with those speeds.

To see if it is available put your phone number in the BTW DSL checker, post the results, hiding your number.

Thanks Mustrum ,

Thats how I saw it , but  wasn't sure because of the way it was expressed.

Best wishes

John

They are offering you what you've already got.

  1. "Fibre Broadband with Landline" (w/out "Full" in front of it) is the ordinary Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC).
  2. EE & OR don't do "fibre to the pole outside" [which is not Full Fibre].
  3. "Full Fibre" is Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) which takes the fibre all the way to your home & inside to a FTTP modem (ONT) installed on the interior wall.
