Hi,
How do I go about downgrading the broadband package I have? It's too expensive to pay now.
Thanks.

You can't downgrade to a cheaper plan mid-term, but only in your upgrade window from 30 days before end of term.

Hi @openworld1
As stated by @XRaySpeX above, you would be unable to downgrade to a lower price plan within your minimum term.
The only exception to this is for customers who would be eligible for BT Group's Social Tariff - BT Home Essentials - if in receipt of certain benefits. Eligible customers on BT or EE would be able to switch to this at any time. There is a number listed on the website to call for EE Customers.
You can find all of the related info here: https://www.bt.com/broadband/home-essentials

my contract is ending on the 2 Nov 2025,
I have been offered same broadband speed (900Mbps) as I have now but a bit cheaper.
However I cannot see lower broadband speed available to select, such as 500Mbps.
Is there any reason why I couldn't downgrade?

Hey @moscab1.
Welcome to the EE Community!
We don't have access to accounts via these forums to check over the exact upgrade options available to you, but if you're out of contract you should definitely be able to look at a range of speeds.
I'd recommend giving our team a call, and they'll be able to make sure we take a look into everything that we can offer in your area.
