Broadband Renewal Process - Book Installation Slot ??

Hi,

I am due to renew my broadband and phone package, first time doing so with EE. The renewal process and options seem relatively straightforward, until I click the continue button to which I am then asked to select an installation booking slot for an engineer (see photo below). It makes no difference if I wish to take up an offer of a slightly faster speed or remain on the package I am currently on. There is no way round it.

PlusNet switched me over to EE approx 2 months ago, and I was supplied with a Smart Hub Plus. I had no engineer visit or installation set up then, pretty much had to follow the instructions that were provided, with no problem.

Some insight please? I know I will probably have to pick a slot so I can get the renewal process over with, but will I get an engineer following up with the appointment? As far as I know, if I were to renew my current package I shouldn't require new equipment.

Thanks

That's great - I've looked up the details for his property. It seems to suggest the exchange "is not in a current fibre priority programme", and SOADSL is not restricted, however it does suggest they are not available to order?

Why are you now talking about SOADSL? In your OP you said it was on "part Fibre". SOADSL isn't part Fibre. You should be looking at SOGEA.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Home Broadband & Home Phone or Option 2 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Sorry, I was confused. He currently has part fibre (at ~80Mbit), which is what he wants to keep.

@rossdorf May just have to ignore any update request's for EE to re-contract and take whatever price cost they throw at him to keep the current copper connection, with FF available and with a slight tree issue, it really all depends what EE/OR does at the renewal, if OR say's ((nope FF it is)) then that is what will happen. They do 100% want that final part off the copper gone when they can do so.

Not sure when my Exchange jumped to priority status ""Y"" on the BTW site as have had FF going on two years now, and with some off the PN posted OP's and the strange deals contract's wise ie £3 for BB and £27 for DV to match PN costings etc would be looking real careful if EE is going to maintain that or Just stick BB up to say Full price and keep the DV at it's current, you will know come the beginning of OCT if you look at the account, should show you all the new proposed price details one would think. Good luck with it all you for sure are the First PN-EE change and renewal.
