Activation date and router

Hi I recently started a contract for my wifi router and yesterday I received said router, I plugged it in and the router had a orange flashing light (I am aware that the orange flashing light means connecting to broader band) but I waited an hour but the orange flashing light was still there. I checked the cables which were all in correctly. So I am wondering if there something wrong or do I just have to wait for my activation date.

P.S. How do I find out my activation date as I am unaware of when it is

You need to wait for your activation date, of which you should've been informed.
