2 week review of EE 1.6gbs

Having been on the new 1.6gb/s service now for 2 weeks, and here are my views,

i have the EE new smart router plus and 3 extenders, first off i know the EE smart hub plus only has 1gb LAN ports, speeds have been ok and stable WIFI rangers from about 650-820  what is not bad, i m running with them hardwired with a lan to them, i know WiFi 6 max speeds are 1200 but rarely get them in the real world 

this package feels like it been rushed out, my reason for saying this are,  openreach engineers laptops have 1gb Ethernet ports so they are unable to check speeds from ONT or any other Speedtest at your home if you are on the 1.6gbs package

the EE router having only 1gb LAN, also it comes with a cat 5e cable, this cat of cable does up to 1gb, so if you are on 1.6gb/s you will need to get a new Ethernet lead to connected the smart hub plus to the ONT

all the WiFi features like work and game mode and WiFi controls dont work, it say page not found, i have heard that the WiFi enhanced feature has been turn off so the team can look at it and fix it as it affecting a lot of users and should be back after a month, i am unable to check speed via the router page this time it asking for me to make an EE account

speeds and connection has been stable and good, but i did have a lot of issues getting the service

i know of people who have bought a 3rd party router so they can get full access to the raw 1.6gbs speeds, and they are having no issues on speeds as router has 2.5gb LAN on them unlike the EE smart hub plus

i have bought a usbc to 2.5gb Ethernet adapter so i can test the raw speeds at the ONT, plus if openreach do need to test speeds at my home they will be able too

so in short i hope you can see why i think this package has been rushed out from the fact openreach dont have the kit to test speeds at the customer home, to all the issues with the new smart hub plus

@XRaySpeX  nah royal mail send the texts I had a parcel from Slovenia this week and i got the Royal mail text while it was stil with teh Slovenia courier.  They normally send a text out the day before with a 4 hour delivery window , this was confirmed my EE earlier today although being a bulh order that may have complicated matters either way though i think we have all been given false information again

I still havent recived myne yet i been out all day and it dosent appear to be in the iteams deliverd 😄

Its a bit of a nuisance my wife works at home during the week and I was hoping to get it all  set up over the weekend.

Yes it seems to be dragging on we a week from the text about the router, but feels like we no closer to getting it and EE next gen don’t even seem to know as I was told by them latest it would be was yesterday, So even calling them up tomorrow I don’t even know if we would get a solid firm answer to it. 

BT I had no issues everything worked no issues, so I expected it would be the same with EE as they are the same firm, and how wrong I was, everything seems to feel rushed out from EE

Postie's been and gone today and still nothing.

This is beyond '4-days' plus a day for slippage, emailed my ever silent complaints handler to ask what's going on and got nothing back.

This is such poor service from BT-EE.

Your expectations are too high, all these companies offer terrible service, when I first rang about it m, I was told it would be dispatched in 2 days

Im still waiting for postie ive had texts from ee to demand the old router back we had a replacment smart hub plus because i thought are security issues u returned it back to sorting office no recipts on the 17th september and dont even know if they want that one back or has it been returned really is a ee mess and also had the landlord out today (Just woke up) for noise mointers despite dad being in bed with flu and me with a little bit of a cold (think ot the covid jabs and flu jabs) and now on the phone to shelter to try and get housing isues sorted as i been woken up hopefully not a bad day like the way it starting and hopefully not turning out to be
