Why you need the My EE app in your life

I have been blogging for two years now and love the independence and freedom it gives me to work as a mother of two. But with blogging comes a freelancers life, a slightly less in control way of life, the next job could be next month or tomorrow. Finances become a little trickier to manage.  And the inevitable fact that I will be using my phone ALL the time for pretty much everything. It is safe to say my phone is pretty important to me.

When it comes to the blog, I write, take photos, edit photos, play with layouts, publish - all from my phone. Then there's all the time spent on Instagram. Chatting, posting, liking, commenting, messaging. Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, eBay, Etsy, my endless amount of shopping apps, Zara, Mango, Topshop, ASOS I am looking at you guys! In fact, I am always flitting in and out of apps. It’s safe to say I spend a lot of time online on my phone. And that’s why the My EE app is a game changer for me.

With the app I have control over how much I am spending on my mobile bill. With knowledge comes power after all... and it can be tricky working for yourself and managing finances. With my itemised bills, I can check and download old bills and even see what I spent outside my plan, so that I can charge this back to my clients.

I can also look at when payments are due which when you don't have a regular salary coming in is so helpful to be able to just pop on and remind myself.

Being able to keep track of my data usage really is key - all the details are on the app, I can see how many remaining minutes, texts and data allowance for any in-plan or purchased add-ons such as roaming minutes outside of the EU (EU roaming is free of charge within certain places and depending on your phone plan). And the data refreshes... so I know if it’s time to slow down on the surfing and instead start logging onto those WIFI spots. There’s a section so you can see what’s new and I also find myself visiting the help quite regularly.

For so long I used my mobile blindly - I would wait for the bill to appear and take the hit. Now I always know what to expect, it just makes sense to be aware and in control. There’s also an online version of My EE if you’re using a computer instead of the app.

So if you don't already have the My EE app - take control, download it and register today. It feels so good to know what’s going on with my account and to be able to tweak and change things myself on my phone. Plus it gives me another app to flit to - seeing as I do love being on my phone so much!
