With Christmas just around the corner, we’ve pulled together a list of our favourite apps to get you in the festive spirit! Why not give them a try and let us know what you think?

 

1. Christmas Photo Effects – iOS

 

Spreading the holiday cheer has never been easier. With plenty of Christmas effects to choose from, this free photo app allows you to edit your photos with festive filters, stickers and frames – all you need to do is tap the Santa hat and away you go. When you’re finished editing, just save to your camera roll and share on social media – or right here on Community, just tap the camera icon.

2. ElfYourself – iOS and Android.

 

What is more festive than turning your family and friends into elves? With ElfYourself, you can replace the faces of up to five elves with those of your friends and family, before selecting a dance theme and creating a short festive video. You can then show off your elf-ing talents on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

3. Christmas Planner – iOS

 

Christmas doesn’t have to be a stressful time of year, especially when it comes to presents. With this app, you can plan who you’re going to buy a gift for, your budget for each person, and what you’re going to buy them. You can also track the status of each present to make sure no one gets left out!

4. Moonpig – iOS and Android

 

Say goodbye to hand cramp and bitter tasting stamps, as sending your Christmas cards has never been easier than with the Moonpig app! In just a few simple steps, you can personalise a festive card with photographs and handwritten messages, opt for next day delivery, and even add a gift. You can also create a mailing list, sending the same design to all your friends and family and ensuring no one gets left out.

5. Gift Wrapping Ideas (Bensol) – Android

 

Wrapping up your gifts this Christmas doesn’t have to be mundane! With over 100 creative ideas this app is sure to inspire you to get crafty this festive period! What’s more is that many of the featured ideas use everyday items like newspapers, pompoms and straws, so you don’t need to spend a fortune on wrapping paper. Simply download in the Play store and get scrolling.

6. Message From Santa – iOS and Android.

 

Who wouldn’t love a call from Santa? This app will allow you or your children to receive a personalised call from Santa, as well as instant replies if you text him. You can also let the big guy know what’s on your wish list this Christmas by leaving him a voicemail.

7. Apple Music – iOS

 

This Christmas, Apple have all your festive favourites covered. With over 35 unique Christmas playlists, 10 Christmas radio stations and 40 Christmas albums, your search for the perfect Christmas mix is over! Simply download the app, register your details, and gain unlimited access to millions of songs.

8. BBC Good Food – iOS and Android

 

Whilst not specifically for Christmas, the Good Food app offers over 70 Christmas recipe collections, making sure you can cater for all of your family. This app has something for everyone, offering collections from canapés to sauces, freezer friendly to vegan friendly dishes and even a collection on what to do with your leftovers! . All recipes include images and clear instructions to help you deliver the perfect meal this Christmas.

9. NORAD Santa Tracker – iOS and Android

 

Follow Santa as he makes his annual trip around the world. With this app, you can track Santa on a satellite map from Christmas Eve onwards, and find out where in the world he is. Make sure you’re tucked up in bed before he reaches your house!

 

10. Time2Cook – iOS

 

Donning the chef toque and feeding the five thousand on Christmas day doesn’t have to be a stress-fest. The Time2Cook app lets you plan the big meal in advance – simply record all of the steps and timings as per your recipes, press go when you’re ready to start cooking, and wait for the automatic reminders to start coming through. You can also adjust timings if you’re running early/late and leave the app running in the background if you need to use your iPhone.
