Thanks for the update @JordanTA

Are there any updates on when those of us with EE TV can upgrade to the 1.6Gpbs service?

Cheers

I don’t think the 1.6Gps broadband will ever be offered to customers who have EE broadband and EETV setup.
Because I believe that the 1.6Gps is still only for new contracts and is still cheaper than the fastest one we can get which is the 1Gb.

Hi @Ali_A

Thanks for the reply. I’m hoping that means those of us with TV/Sport will have the option for 1.6Gbps soon…

Hey, just to confirm, it's not currently possible to add TV to 1.6G via our online journey. However, it can be added if you call or visit one of our Retail stores.

Thanks @JordanTA do you also happen to know if it's possible for existing customers to upgrade to the 1.6gbps speeds, if they call? I don't have that option via the online upgrade process. I was a BT customer who got migrated to EE, in case that's relevant.

@Katie_B I just called, but it seems it's still for "new customers only" which is very disappointing.

@miketja I’ve just had the usual push to upgrade my broadband but the option for the 1.6gbs is still not an option.

So I think doesn’t matter what is said on here.

Those of us which have EETV, will always be stuck on the slower but dearer broadband speed.

@miketja and @robh661 - I’ve been looking into this and from what I’ve read it’s due to the plans being on different EE systems.

If you already have 1.6 it seems can now add TV but as the other plans are on another system there’s currently no path to upgrade and be switched over to the new system.

I already have the 2.5GbE ONT so ready to go as soon as EE ever offer the option to upgrade.

However Ive also read reports that existing customers have been able to swap to the new 1.6 service after going through the complaints process. It sounds as though their old service/contract was terminated and a new one started.
