EE today launched its new TV service, EE TV, available with EE Broadband.

EE TV means amazing entertainment and sport, with Sky channels from NOW, Netflix, TNT Sports and more – through flexible packages that can be changed month to month, so customers only have to pay for what they want to watch.

The biggest news? EE TV will launch on Apple TV 4K via a new app with a bespoke TV guide for a complete and seamless live TV experience, as well as an EE branded remote offering instant app access. Customers can now choose the best TV experience for them, with a range of set top boxes including Apple TV 4K, EE TV Box Pro, or EE TV Box Mini.

For customers wanting to watch in multiple rooms, only EE TV comes with up to 2 extra EE TV Box Mini’s at no extra cost.

Those joining the new EE TV service will be able to enjoy six months free Apple TV+. Apple TV+ offers award-winning Apple original series and films, from hit dramas to star-studded comedies, ground-breaking documentaries to kids’ favourites, with new premieres added every month.

Hi,

@NickbsEE I'm new to EE/BT and I apologise if this question has already been answered but how do you get the "2 extra EE TV Box Mini’s at no extra cost" as mentioned in the original blog post. EE staff didn't know what I was talking about on the phone.

Not surprised as that is the problem I referred to in my original post.

I signed up to EE Mobile, EEBroadband and EETV in November as a BT
"all-in" customer out of contract.

My EETV subscription is Live and working on my BT TV box and mobile
devices via the EETV APP since December 6th, as originally advised.

My boadband was upgraded to "Fibre to the Door" in January and is
working, as originally arranged.

But I have been unable to find an EE "communications channel" whereby I
can get an answer about my EETV hardware bundle and its whereabouts.

Good luck and please post when you get an answer about yours.

My switch from BT to EE broadband should happen today and the Smart Hub Plus is with Royal Mail and due to be delivered tomorrow.

Going off other posts I’ve read I didn’t think I’d get sent the new router that EE offer.

I’ve noticed on my BT account that broadband is no longer on the list of services. I guess I’ll need to wait for my EE account details once that’s set up then I can link it to my mobile account profile.

I’ll update again to let you know what happens when I try to order EE TV after the broadband is all switched over.

Take it with a pinch of salt but I’m informed that EE  tv will be available to all existing customers by end of Jan…

Thankyou for your post.

Even rumours at this juncture give me hope of a successful outcome.

I have to wonder why can't EE inform keep subscribers informed
appropriately or provide a communications channel whereby they can find
a progress report.

Regards and best wishes

@muffs it is indeed frustrating. I called yesterday and told them my sky contract was ending on 25 Jan and the guy put me on hold for a while then came back and said that end of Jan is when the system is being updated to allow for new orders.

So we should be nearing the end of this debacle - fingers crossed. I’m seeing what sky offer me for retention alongside ee - let’s see how it works out

Thanks for your post.

The original EETV service was a perfect fit for my requirements back
then and this new one looks to be even better.

I do hope so as I’ve already been told I can’t have EETV added to my account until my current ‘legacy’ we broadband contract expires in March 2025!! Having said that we’ve lost all broadband access this afternoon and the update is ‘they hope to fix by 18:00 14/1’.. so 23 hours of??? Where’s my crayons, we have no internet and no TV .. excellent! Thanks EE 👌

I originally ordered BT broadband as EE wasn’t available to pre-order for our new build and because of this I was promised the same SIM only deals for our two plans, these were apparently swapped over but the next mobile bill arrived and we were still be charged full price.

I was interested in EE TV and also obtaining the discounted SIM only tariff with EE broadband so called to start the switch from BT to EE which was actioned the next day.

Broadband was switched over from BT to EE as planned, new smart hub plus arrived and is fantastic however I can’t link my new broadband account to my mobile account.

I received a text stating my first EE broadband bill was available to view but wasn’t able to view it through my normal EE mobile account/EE app login so I called customer services and obtained the account number for broadband.

I tried to link the broadband to my existing mobile account online then it advised to call EE to prove my identity which I did.

They tried to link it but couldn’t and I was put on hold, it turns out old and new EE systems can’t yet “talk” to each other so they’ve submitted a request for another team to look at which didn’t give them a timescale but they suggested it should take 7-10 working days.

I’ve not even tried to order EE TV yet, I’ll leave that for tomorrow but it’s not looking promising so far. Note that I had originally ordered it through my BT account but was advised to cancel this and move to EE and after I’d moved over I’d be able to place a new order.

@NickBS @DarrenDev @Christopher_G  @Leanne_T  is anyone able to assist please?

@Profile closed I had a similar issue - I had to create a new EE account to view my broadband account but then I asked them to merge my accounts, although it took some time it worked and I can view all my accounts together now. So maybe try that route?

Thanks @qucharsky

When I called they tried to send an activation email for the broadband account which I’ve still not received (checked junk/spam folder etc).

I could try and register for a new account with a different email address to see if this works and then merge them although don’t want to complicate things even further.

It’s almost like the EE system can’t send an activation email for broadband as it knows I already have an active account for mobile but it also can’t match them and automatically link.

Honestly starting to wonder why I have taken on this mission to try and order EE TV. I honestly think we should all be rewarded somehow for trying to help figure these issues out but that will never happen!

Sorry to hear of your broadband outage.

I cannot recall having that experience with either BT or EE.

Particularly strange as I believe BT use EE network for backup.

Hope it works out for you with the crayons.

A frustrating scenario indeed.

As I believe I may have already said EE have been found wanting in
regard of their communications channels.

I don't think this rebranding and launch of the new EETV service has
been going very smoothely.

Let's hope the situation improves.

I do not mind waiting so much but wish they would advise customers
appropriately.

Paying customers should not be treated as afterthoughts.

Both paying and prospective customers should be correctly advised per
current/revised situations, either directly or have a communications
channel whereby they can view/seek updates if they are concerned.

I must consider myself fortunate that my account access BT to EE has
been relatively painless.

In these days of computerised systems one does not anticipate such
issues as yours.

I believe I did the same successfully back in November.

I’ve just had the most mind boggling conversation with a member of the BT retentions team (who actually turns out to be an EE team member), over my options.

Can somebody help me - is EETV available right now or not?

I'm an existing BT broadband and TV customer, but with my contract coming to an end in the next 15 days, it looked like I could get a better deal taking the EE full works package £100.99) vs my current month bill of £144 (that’s crept up significantly)

I was told that it actually isn’t available to sign up to or switch across to, the TV element of the package isn’t yet available on their systems. But they’re seemingly still selling it on their site?!

After much back and forth, they offered me my current package at £111 per month, which isn’t bad from a broadband perspective (it’s Halo+), but the TV package looks a little worse off…. Plus my equipment is a little old by comparison.

I haven’t taken it yet - upon reflection I’m not sure whether I should or not!

@Pingybop welcome to the fun.

in short , no; it’s not available for existing EE customers, for those transferring to BT now with broadband and tv - yes it is.

your experience depends on who you speak to.

every single member of staff has a different understanding.

the latest I’m told is end of Jan then it’s open season for ee tv.

I’ve signed up for sky stream as I must admit, I got tired of the back and forth .

Thanks @mirrors90  - this is mental!

I need to weigh up whether the offer I’ve been made is worth signing up for.

The package seems a little more attractive… new equipment, multi room, additional sky channels and I’d assume one single bill across my current EE mobile lines and the broadband/tv package.

Whats boggling me is that as an existing BT customer, couldn’t they do the deal and activate it through my existing BT TV box?

@muffs Outage sorted Sunday am around 7:07, just in time for MoTD.. crayons put aside.
@mirrors90  Mrs is nagging to get Sky Stream but I now want to wait to see if EETV is made available to existing EE customers by end of January.. couple of weeks more.
I’ve started watching Ring Doorbell footage, at least it’s ad-free 🥳

I san understand your dilemma.

Unfortunately, EE have been mute in regard of EETV.

I, as a BT customer I signed up for EEMobile, EEbroadband and EETV in
November last on the understanding the EETV offering would not be
implemented until December 6th.

My Mobile service is  EE my broadband has been upgraded to Halo and my
TV services are  EETV, with the necessary change to my Netflix
subscription completed.

My EETV APP is working and I have an EE online account functioning.

I am still using the BTTV box and BT Router, waiting for advice from EE
regarding the EETV hardware bundle.

Everything looks promising, I just wish EE would either keep me informed
about EETV delivery progress or provide a working channel through which
I might find out.

I hope this helps you decide.

I was also a BTTV customer and now have EETV through my existing BT TV box.

I too am looking forward to what for me was their USP, Multi-room access
via my router, as it used to be in the old/original EETV days.

I trust that we are the victims of roll-out teething problems for their
new EETV service and am presently placing some credence to the "End of
january" implementation rumour/fact.

Brilliant.

The Ring doorbell footage would never have occured to me.

I think I would prefer the crayons but admit to being more of a Youtube
watcher given the Off-air TV content these days.

Cheers, A

As a loyal EE customer who switched to the NEW EE BROADBAND in November 23, I'm now being told existing customers can't get it, makes me question my loyalty to EE, their communication channels are appalling and you don't get much when you eventually get through on the phone.

@NickBS @does anyone official from ee post on here?

If so could some confirmation or denial be posted in response to rumoured availability of EETV to existing ee customers by the end of January?
It might just prevent me switching to Sky Stream.
I’m talking ‘legacy’ ee broadband since March ‘23 and still in contract to March ‘25 but looking to add EETV. 🙏
