EE today launched its new TV service, EE TV, available with EE Broadband.

EE TV means amazing entertainment and sport, with Sky channels from NOW, Netflix, TNT Sports and more – through flexible packages that can be changed month to month, so customers only have to pay for what they want to watch.

The biggest news? EE TV will launch on Apple TV 4K via a new app with a bespoke TV guide for a complete and seamless live TV experience, as well as an EE branded remote offering instant app access. Customers can now choose the best TV experience for them, with a range of set top boxes including Apple TV 4K, EE TV Box Pro, or EE TV Box Mini.

For customers wanting to watch in multiple rooms, only EE TV comes with up to 2 extra EE TV Box Mini’s at no extra cost.

Those joining the new EE TV service will be able to enjoy six months free Apple TV+. Apple TV+ offers award-winning Apple original series and films, from hit dramas to star-studded comedies, ground-breaking documentaries to kids’ favourites, with new premieres added every month.

@NickBS : Is this available only with NEW EE BB or is it also available with OLD EE BB?

I’m out as I don’t have and will not get BT/EE Broadband.   No way I’d give up YouFibre for this!

I’ve just called EE and been told that there’s been an issue with the launch and it’s now been pushed back until Friday.

Yes - you'd need to switch the New EE Broadband @XRaySpeX .  To order you'll need to contact us via 150 as you can't order old to new EE online.

Since the intro of NEW EE BB, EE has been depreciating & belittling the users of OLD EE BB. There is no reason to do so. We are just as valuable as any other user & still provide significant income to EE

If I have existing NEW EE fibre can TV be added on separately as 150 have no idea?  Website sows me the packages with fibre, but as soon as I log in to my account, there are errors.

I see that EE TV comes with 2 additional mini boxes at no extra cost.

Is it possible to pay for a 3rd box?

I am with sky and my contract is up but we have 3 additional mini boxes so would only consider switching if we can purchase a 3rd mini box

Hi @tammclaughlin

The maximum per user is two extra boxes. 🙂

Has anyone been able to order yet? I keep getting told it should be available but they won’t let me add to existing new EE broadband 😔

Yes but not if your a BT broadband customer...

I ordered EE TV on the 7th the works....

But despite the huge fanfare about the big selling point of FREE MULTI ROOM I didn't get it included with my order!!!

So it's definitely at best misleading & definitely discrimination as well.

I'm going to await the reply from trading standards to see exactly wot they think too.

Absolutely disgusting offering services to new EE TV customers which I am only to not be included outrageous and I'm actually thinking of cancelling the order and going to keep my sky stream.

Dreadful.

@rogt5469 I believe you have to add it onto your package , and you are allowed 2 extra boxes maximum - I don’t think it automatically gets added , it’s a bolt on - but free of charge. Have you spoken with ee?

@Christopher_G i know the answer to this, but I’m gonna ask anyway. Can I get two Apple TV boxes? Would love to have that - we have three TVs (big household , lots of people) and with 1 the ee mini won’t be a problem but the main two, definitely would benefit from Apple TV boxes!

on another note - when are we allowed to order this? My sky contract is up and they’re offering great retention deals but I’d be interested in what ee can offer - the call centre say it’s only for new now

I visited an EE/BT shop and was told that initially it's a max of 2 mini boxes per customer to get the stock rolled out to as many customers as possible at the beginning but will likely change in the coming months to allow additional boxes.

Does anyone got details on pricing for existing New EE BB customers. Online store doesn't work for me. Just get an error while logged in and if I use incognito mode, I can just see prices including Broadband.

I have been a 100% BT User for many years, including Broadband (Full Fibre), landline (Before Digital Voice), Digital Voice, Mobile and TV.  They carried out some minor changes on 14th/15th November, when the screen and some logos changed on screen and on 6th December the full change seemed to have been carried out successfully.  However, on the first occasion all my pre-recorded items changed to "Failed to Record" and were lost.  They had been all OK before the changes.  I reported this via BT Complaint on a voice call, was told nothing could be done, no apology but promise to look into it.  Lo and behold exactly the same loss of recordings happened on the 6th December, the only way to cure this was a full Factory reset on BT ProBox.  I have complained again, this time via EE, as I thought they may have sorted it out from the first instance.

@NickBS  Yeah, it’s here and it’s a disaster for me. I’ve been with EE for many years but they had to move me to BT for the faster speeds I wanted. Took the BT TV option at the same time as the deal seemed pretty good and I needed a set top box for terrestrial. All was well until the latest update switching BT TV to EE TV. I don’t have an aerial socket near the TV so I have to use a RX and TX wireless set up between box and TV. This worked under BT TV but now I get the EE TV screen but no terrestrial channels showing.  All the other apps I can pretty much get on my LG TV anyway so what’s the actual point of this box now? It’s useless. I wonder if I can ditch my contract since you can no longer provide a service to it? As a set top box, it offers no more value than my Apple TV  can.

Good evening

There's certain rules in the T&C that state they roll you back to the original contract obviously because they know if they didn't then there would be a mass churn rate for sure.

There's numerous issues with this new refurbished TV offerings as it's bt pro box refurbished in EE TV branding absolutely not a single specification up dated in it...

EE TV has been around before & failed.

Apple TV box well if it's locked to broadband via BT or EE then why can't existing customers use the apple boxes they already own & use the BT or EE broadband as it will know it's on the bb & could easily install the software to work these to full capacity.

My own personal experience so far has been absolutely shocking really.

Sorry, I probably shouldn’t have mentioned the Apple TV. I was just pointing out that the LG TV apps and the Apple TV apps are the same as the EE TV offering. I have added Netflix and Now to my bundle but I can access those through their native apps anyway.  So without being able to get terrestrial now via wireless RX/TX, EE TV as it stands is redundant for me.

The comms said that nothing would change other than the branding but something has changed because as BT TV the wireless connection worked and as EE TV, it has stopped.

The user interface of the new EE TV is horrible. The abrasive yellow, in stark contrast to the soothing tones of BT TV. The TV guide background is much darker now, meaning it's more difficult to see the picture while viewing the guide, even with the transparency effect. The UI has a very cheap look, for an expensive service. A real let down.

Hello,

@NickBS Am I correct to understand that EE does not offer the TV as individual service from Broadband?

Thanks

Hi @BobbyAxelrod

EE TV comes with EE Broadband. Please see EE TV Packages | TV & Broadband Deals | EE for full details.

Hi  @Leanne_T

Thank you for confirming, that EE TV is not available as individual service. If you are able forward this message to your superiors, that would be appreciated.

I do not require Copper DSL broadband, as I already have Fibre Optic broadband that EE does not offer in area I live at this stage. Because EE/BT still are behind upgrading dated network operated by OpenReach. Other Companies/Investors are installing Fibre Optic, at least do your research and then make some deals with them and then offer Bundle deals.

Overall It does look like a nice product, but It's real shame, this again proves that big corporations like BT Group likes to dictate what end customers must have. It is also misleading Marketing to consumers, by trying to lock in with a different product as a service.

This will cause you losing millions of potential customers.

@BobbyAxelrod : EE/BT are not behind upgrading dated network operated by OpenReach. It's OR that's behind updating their own network. EE/BT can only provide what OR has put in place.

@NickBS I can’t see a way to edit or delete my previous post but I wanted to make sure that my previous post regarding the wireless connection between box and TV is solved. It just started working so whether the box needed an additional reboot after the software upgrade, I’m not sure.

I’m EE all the way and EE moved me over to BT purely because at the time, the higher speeds were only offered on the BT side of the business. I know people may not like the EE aesthetic feel but for me, it’s like coming home. Welcome back EE! 🙂
