Hello,
I have an EE PAYG sim and a handset I bought from the EE online shop a few years back. I love the network and my PAYG plan, but sadly the handset is in need of an upgrade.
I'm wanting to purchase a OnePlus Nord N10 5G ready handset, but sadly they aren't sold by EE. My question is this: If I buy an unlocked handset ( e.g. direct from OnePlus ) and put my existing PAYG EE sim in it, will it work?
I've been all over the place online and in theory it should work as the handset supports EE network bands ( For 4G anyway - my plan/sim is not 5G so I'm less concerned about that right now ).
Having some direct confirmation before forking out for the handset and gambling it'll work would be most welcome! 🙂
Thanks in advance,
Pete.

The issue you describe is normally where the likes of eBay / Amazon Sellers are banging out Chinese Stock Firmware, if your buying from Chinese Manafactors that are UK or Europe based you should be fine.
If in doubt check the Supported Band's within the phones Specs before purchase, the required 4G Band that's normally missing on Chinese Stock Firmware is Band 20, if you want to future proof it a bit more on 5G also make sure it has 5G Bands n78 minimum but ideally with n28, n77 and n78 with SA and NSA Support this should keep you going for s few years at least.
