I just received my iphone 12 upgrade today and it does not have a plug to charge the phone nor does it have earphones! I was not informed of this on the phone by EE Staff!
Apple state some flannel about reducing plastics or waste or some shizzle, when the fact that the XR charger is NOT compatible with the 12, they are increasing the need for further plugs as i now cannot charge my new iphone!! Stupid!

This is a practice that other phone manufacturers are following, not just Apple.
Their thinking is, if you want a power plug (as a lot of people are using wireless chargers now instead), the customer can purchase one, and then keep hold of it for their future phones, and this means they are not needing to manufacture a power plug, earphones for the millions of iPhone's that are getting manufactured.
I realise that the USB-C cable that comes with the iPhone 12 won't work with the iPhone XR charger, but if you have the USB to Lightning cable and the charger from your iPhone XR, this will charge up your iPhone 12.

@Rachiepachie42 The iPhone XR charger is compatible and I don’t know why you think it isn’t. Also EE don’t make the device you are purchasing and it’s not down to EE to inform you what you get with the device. Did you even ask what comes with it ?

EE doesn't have to tell you as if you purchase a phone you should be doing research ro make sure it fits your needs.
Apple has publocally stated they are no longer shipping chargers and earphones with their phones. Samsung has started doing the same with their Galaxy S21.
This is because over the years people have amassed loads of chargers.
If you have had iPhones before which you state you have then you have a compatible charger.
