Looking for clarification on stock levels on website

I am looking for some clarity on the stock levels on the EE website.

When I look on the EE website right now I get the following:

S6 Blue - In Stock - Available to order - expect despatch within 7 days

S6 Space Grey - In Stock - Now in Stock - Usually despatched within 1 day

S6 Gold - In Stock - Now in Stock - Usually despatched within 1 day

S6 Silver - Out of Stock now - Available to order - expect despatch within 7 days

S6 Red - In Stock - Now in Stock - Usually despatched within 1 day

Some of them are straight forward, such as the Grey, Gold and Red, but lets compare the Blue and Silver.

Blue is in stock, available to order, yet you may have to wait up to 7 days for despatch.

The Silver is out of stock, available to order but again can take up to 7 days for despatch.

As someone has mentioned, is this 7 days from when they are in stock, or 7 days from the point of order?

I personally have a Silver on 'back order' but was told I would receive this within 7 days. It all just seems a bit messy and if someone could clarify their meanings I think it would benefit a lot of people.

I recently ordered a Blue which was out of stock but in stock but despatched within 1 day.

@wizzywig27 , unfortunately here in the forums we would not know how much stock there is or when they will be available, this depends when EE receive stock from Apple. You could always ring customer service to find out.

They will be delivered on a first come first served basis and you will receive an email/text from DPD the day before delivery and on the day a one hour delivery time.

Well it looks like the silver one is out of stock, and that is why you have not received it yet. I have read elsewhere in the forums, that Apple were saying they will be available sometime in October, but cannot remember exact dates, you may find this by searching the forums here about the Apple Watch.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

I am not asking for stock levels (although I appreciate that the title suggests otherwise) - what I am asking for is what each status actually means, as it seems they are just plucked out of the air. I have contacted EE and I probably know more about them than they do (which, in case of any doubt, is very little). All I am told is it SHOULD be delivered within 7 days

Without sounding rude, I am sick of reading that they will be delivered on a first come first served basis, I understand that, this was NOT my question. I also understand, having had upwards of 15 items delivered by EE, that DPD will contact me etc etc

Thank you for the information.

And since posting this the Blue has gone out of stock, available to order, expect despatch within 7 days to In stock, expect dispatch within 7 days

and the silver has gone to in stock expect despatch within 7 days

so again, what the difference?

@wizzywig27  What it means is, that EE have sold out of the blue one and received stock for the silver one. As Apple have to distribute all over the world and different networks and outlets, it also depends how much stock they receive, hope this makes sense.

Status on the stock for silver has went from in stock to last few left to low stock, all still expect despatch within 7 days

Now back to last few left.

Do you not see my point, their status’ suggest that stock is fluctuating, I can appreciate if, say they get 100 in, it gets to 50 and status changes to low stock. Then at 10 it changes to last few left, but it’s been up and down.

Also, if they have got say 100 in, and all those 100 are allocated to back orders, their status on the website should not change to ‘in stock’ or ‘last few’ etc, if they had them ‘in stock’ for people to buy online why is mine still on back order?

Now back to low stock. Apple must have vans arriving constantly at EE HQ

@James_B I called them earlier, nice guy, but genuinely didnt have an answer for me.

He told me what I know already, my order is still an open sales order and should be delivered within 7 days. That however is not the purpose of my post here, its so I can understand exactly what is going on. I am happy to wait the 7 days quoted.
