Why would they?  You can upgrade fee free after a year. No one is forcing you to upgrade now.

And just for the record I’m in the same boat. Tomorrow I will be paying £100 upgrade fee but if I wait until the morning after it’s free.

You can’t upgrade for free after year because I’ve been with EE forAbout 16 months and I’ve still got to pay £280 to end my contract

So will it be free for me then or not

If you have that amount left to pay why do you think you shouldn’t have to pay it?

Because you said after a year you can upgrade for free without paying so have ee lied to me

I’ve already mentioned it depends on what contract you took out at the time.

I managed  to get the fee waived by calling up. The app was telling me I needed £100 to upgrade as I got the 12 Pro last year on launch, but when i called the guy could see an option to waive the fee so ive got an "early" early upgrade and no fee!

EE probably have the best customer service of any network IMO.
