iPhone reset

My iPhone screen is cracked and whilst on holiday abroad it started glitching out and doing things on its own and it managed to reset the whole iPhone.  Now I am trying to restore from my iCloud but it is not letting me as I cannot receive a code as I cannot access the messages.  I am waiting for Apple to get back to me.  Am I able to use an old phone to temporarily use with an downloaded eSIM or will that mess up my normal phone once repaired/I am able to access it etc,

@EmmaSt  Yes you can use the eSIM on a different device but you’ll have to call customer services so they can activate it for you as you cannot request this via your online account because you will not receive a text message with a pin code to authorise this.    Your best option is to request a replacement SIM card you can then move that from one device to the other without having an issue trying to activate the eSIM.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Hello @EmmaSt

Thanks for coming here.

Is your SIM in your device when you are trying to restore from iCloud?

Does the code not auto fulfil?

Are you back in the UK? we recommend downloading and activating SIMs whilst connect to the EE home network.

Does your SIM work in another phone OK?

Katie

Thank you.  I do not have a SIM currently, it is a eSIM

More for the benefit of others, but an eSIM is still a SIM - it's just not a physical one.

Pros and cons of both.
