How long is the wait for the phone to be in stock and then delivered please (iPhone 17 Pro 256gb in Silver) only ordered on the 5th but have seen people waiting a few weeks. 

Paid my last bill for my previous phone, has the new contract already started even though I don't have the handset? If not, will I still be able to use calls/data etc after this current contract goes beyond its end date? I go on holiday on the 25th and I'm concerned I won't have the ability to contact anyone if anything happens.

Welcome to the community,

Your SIM card will still work, as contracts do not end, and when your new phone is dispatched, you will see that your upgrade will have changed, you do not lose your current contract. Please make sure that you have Roaming enabled on your account before going abroad, if you are going abroad, though.

I believe there is a delay of 14 days before receiving the phone, from what I have read, but you should still get it before you go, but make sure that you have the DPD app, as you will receive the PIN number, which you need to receive the phone and when it will be delivered with a one hour window.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using web based app or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.
