Are you trying UK number?

Same problems I faced while calling few Indian numbers and following IVR instructions but none of keys worked, later on I came to know the issue is international call and nothing related to EE as same was happening on other SIMs too

Not sure if this is related to your issue but somehow it may be

@SIMEDS  The keypad most certainly does produce tones providing you’ve got it enabled and the device isn’t in silent mode

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Go to Sounds & Haptics > Keyboard Feedback.

  3. Turn Sound on or off.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

As I mentioned DTMF is not about sound, this is not related to the tone of iPhone silent mode or ring mode.

Dual tone multi-frequency (DTMF) is the sounds or tones generated by a telephone when the numbers are pressed. These tones are transmitted with the voice channel.

DTMF is used to control automated equipment and signal user intent, such as the number they wish to dial.
