I’m having a similar problem, a few months back had a temporary SIM whilst my old number was being ported from BT to EE. Most of the time it’s fine but some of my contacts say the temporary SIM number shows up when I text them. I did read the other person’s solution but I don’t really know how to do all that.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Hi @Claire2951,
Welcome to the EE Community
I know it can be confusing when you are not sure what you are doing, but if it is any help I can provide the step by step instructions for the recommended steps to help make it clearer.
In terms of turning off iMessage tap Settings, tap Messages and tap iMessage to off. For Facetime tap Settings, tap Facetime, tap the slider to off.
After that you restart your phone, turning it off and then back on. Then check the number saved on the phone by tapping Settings, tap Phone, tap My Number. If it is showing the incorrect number edit it and save.
Then turn iMessage back on tap Settings > Messages and tap iMessage to On. Then scroll down to Send & Receive. Make sure the correct number is selected and if not select (tick) or update to the correct number. And then do the same for Facetime in Settings> Facetime.

@Claire2951 turn off iMessage and FaceTime and restart the device then check your number in settings/apps/phone if it’s shows correct you can re-enable iMessage and FaceTime.

Thanks for responding. Sadly I don’t know how to do any of that! I’m an old lady and mobile phones are all magic to me anyway! My friends will just have to keep seeing the wrong number I’m afraid.😟

Thank you very much, I’ll give that a go when I’ve worked up some courage! Maybe I’ll wait till I see my son and get him to do it. ❤️
