New sim card for iPhone12 mini

Hello. I am new in here having just joined EE from another Co.

I received my new sim card which did not fit the tray in my phone. Being handy with a sharp knife I managed to trim the excess and make it fit . It works okay but I am wondering if this is normal . Has anyone else had a similar problem ?

@UXB15  EE supply you with a three in one Sim, where you push out the part that you need for your phone.
