Dear All,
Please can I ask some advice?
I am currently on iPhone on Giff Gaff but now want to add an Apple Watch under Family Setup for my son (he does not have his own phone).
I have a choice of providers as I undeerstand it and EE seems a good fit (in terms of coverage)
I have already purchased the Apple Watch direct from Apple (and own my iPhone outright)
I believe the process is as follows but want some sense checking:
1. I need to set up an account / contract with EE and then transfer my number over (I have the PAC code)
2. I will then need to go into the account and add Family Setup / Plan
3. Set Up the watch
4. Start a new plan for the watch with its own number and an eSim
I thought I had this right so I went to an EE shop to choose a contract and start the process. They told me I couldn't set up / add to EE an Apple Watch that they had not supplied. I don't know if this was just a lack of knowledge on their part or whether this is correct.
Please can someone advise?
Thanks in advance,
AndFre

There should be the option to purchase a Standalone Watch Plan at £7pm for the Watch if calling EE over the phone and letting them know what you would like to do.
They would need the EID of the Watch to set this up, which should be on the box.
EE Retail stores are unable to do this, hence their response. They could have been more helpful though and suggested calling.

Hey there @AndFre.
Welcome to the EE Community 😊
We absolutely offer the option to add a SIM Only watch plan to your account, so you definitely don't need to have purchased this direct from us.
I believe this option is intended for pairing with a number rather than standalone use, though.
Do you have your EE SIM up and running now?

Thank you for getting back to me.
I was spooked by the conversation I had in the shop to be honest - I didn't want to change to EE only to find I couldn't do what I am after.
Can I check that I can definitely use the Family Plan option to add the watch with it's own number?
I am aware I need to use my iPhone to set up the watch
Thanks again
