There are no ringtones, alert tones or anything. When people call me the phone does not ring but if I have it in front of me I can see someone is calling, and I can answer it. I can also make calls, send texts and email etc etc, but my phone is silent. I have tried to sort this out through settings and get nowhere. The guide tells me settings>notifications>apps>notifications>all apps and then reset. Nothing happens. HELP!

Hi @oldvet

Welcome to the EE Community

Can you go to Settings > System > Gestures > check if "prevent ringing" is on or off?

It should be switched off.

Let us know how you get on.

Ali

I have done that, "prevent ringing" is off. Dialled my number from a landline; no ring tone and it went straight to voicemail.

Your initial post said "I can see someone is calling, and I can answer it", which appears contradicted by "no ring tone and it went straight to voicemail".

Incoming calls not ringing would suggest diverts, blocking, Do Not Disturb or a coverage issue. Lack of audible alerts (effectively, silent mode) suggests a settings issue.

@oldvet

If you set an alarm, does it ring/sound ? You can test this by setting an alarm for a few minutes time and wait for a result.

Sorted! Many thanks.
