Hi all,
Recently moved to EETV and it's pretty good.
There's one seriously annoying problem, however.
On the homepage random programme streams from broadcast channels play in the background. I have tried to turn it off in the settings, but to no avail.
It's distracting, and very annoying and I would like to be able to turn it off, but don't know how.
Can anyone offer some help, please?
Thanks
Colin A

Hi @Mr-C
Thanks for coming to the community.
I don't believe there is a way to stop the sound from the background programme, but there is a way to stop the display from being transparent and showing the moving picture through the display.
Are you using the Apple TV box, the EE TV Box Pro or the EE TV Box Mini?

I stop the audio with Mute, until I’m actually ready to watch something.

EE TV box pro.
I found a n option in the settings to stop the background player loading over the homepage, but it only sorta works, a bit, if I load an app - Netflix, Amazon, Paramount etc - and then quit it. Stays quiet for a few minutes after that.
It's seriously annoying, though. I have M.E. and it causes confusion, brain fog, and fatigue very quickly. Can we have a way to turn it off on the next system update, like I could do with my Roku Streambar that I was using previously?

I’m not quite clear on what you are trying to achieve. While there is a setting to stop transparent backgrounds (Settings/Appearance/Transparent Backgrounds/Off), this doesn’t seem to apply to the Home Page (the one you get pressing the button with a house on it), where Mute stops all the distractions for me.
Guide, certainly, loses the distractions, so Transparent Backgrounds Off is a good thing there.
But what is the ‘it’ that you want to turn off that you currently can’t?
[A little bit of history by the way. Top left on the Guide, there used to be a mini screen, that showed you the current programme in a thumbnail. This was switchable, on or off. At some point, this had to be dispensed with, and the transparent background was introduced as a replacement, likewise switchable on or off. But I think most of us old hands would prefer the mini screen back 😢]
