My wife keeps getting calls to her number asking for Robbie Black. These calls come from different numbers and as soon as she asks how they have her number or who they are they hang up. Has someone given her number by mistake or deliberately to a community of people who want to contact Robbie Black? What can be done about it?
Thanks
Michael

Your wife can request a change of mobile number by contacting CS on 150.
Either that, or keep asking the mysterious callers where her number has come from, until someone answers the question.

Thanks, but this is really not the solution for these reasons:
1. She would presumably have to inform all friends and family as well as all the businesses who have her number and those that use two-factor authentication.
2. Alternatively, would EE forward all her calls made to the old number to the new number with a message informing the caller that the number has been changed?
3. If (2) was an option, presumably all the people, (including the bad guys), ringing her old number would get the new number.
4. She has asked countless times how the caller got her number but answer came there none.
5. My solution is that every time she receives a call of this kind, she has a button on her phone which sends an ear-splitting noise to the caller and that the number is dialled day and night every minute or so until the caller reveals the source!

I fear there may be some regulatory issues with your point 5. Try searching your phone's app store.

Hi @michaeljohnson
Thanks for coming to our community.
As @bristolian suggested, a change of number would likely be the best way to stop these but I appreciate this can be inconvenient to change for the reasons in your first point.
You cannot forward calls on from the old number to a new one if you were to change it, but as you also touched on, this wouldn't solve the issue as the nuisance calls would also come through.
There are some things here on our help page How to avoid and prevent spam that may be of use such as the TPS or reporting them to 7726.
