Received a text message from "-EE-" asking me to tap and download some big news, any body else seen this?

That's a genuine MMS message from EE. It's normal to see the tap to download message if you don't have automatic downloads turned on in your message settings.

Can you post the exact text of the message you received? Don't go there if you're not sure, but please include the precise link as well.

Hi, not done anything with the message, but this is what it looks like (obviously the blank is my name):

I'm minded to say that's genuinely from EE, but they usually send a text message which contains a link.

 

That looks like an MMS to me (the "tap to download") and I've not known EE do that before.

Were there any other links within the message?

 

The user ID is the usual ID displayed when you would receive a text from EE.

Worryingly I've just had the exact same text.

There were no other links in the text, just the download arrow.

Oh well,my loss as I deleted it😐

It's ok, I missed out too - I tried to download it and the message had expired!🤣
