Do phone cloners access photos?

My boyfriend just had his phone cloned. He open a text message and all his texts and photos disappeared and some random app come up he didn’t know and he couldn’t delete it. He rang EE who said it had been cloned. Does this mean someone has photos of me on the other phone now?

@MeVe   EE wouldn’t known it’s been cloned.  EE don’t have access to the device and even if they did they still wouldn’t know if it had been.

if it has been cloned then yes the pictures will be cloned also.

you need to tell your boyfriend to change all passwords he uses for everything on that device. Ie bank, PayPal,Amazon,eBay.   Everything

He has thanks.

Hi @MeVe.

Did the text message contain a link, and if so, did he follow the link?

Yup. That’s how the weird app appeared on his phone that he couldn’t delete
and when all the other text messages he had disappeared

Thanks @MeVe.

I've found some more information about this.

If you think you have downloaded this malware, we recommend you follow the recommendations from the UK National Cyber Security Centre: https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/guidance/flubot-guidance-for-text-message-scam

I hope this helps.
