I've just received a call from someone who said they were from EE advising me that someone had tried to hack my account. They suggested I contact EE to change my password. I contacted EE through 150 and was called back by an operator who said he found the original call and asked me my account's password. Is this usual to be asked for my password over the phone? I declined to do so and changed instead changed the password through my online account.

Did you call EE through the 150 service? We would usually ask for certain characters of your password, not the full thing.
Your online password is different to the one when you call customer services. I would recommend calling 150 to discuss this.
