I recently moved from O2 to EE, got my PAC code, and successfully ported over my longstanding 0794 number - as far as phone calls are concerned, both incoming and outgoing.
And my incoming text messages to my long-standing 0794 number also arrive successfully.
However, when I send a text, it appears to come from a different number, an 07507 one, which I think may be the number my EE SIM had before I ported my 0794 number to it.
How do I fix this?
I have tried ringing 150, but the call handling was utterly shambolic, and I may or may not be waiting for a callback that will never come 😢
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Thanks all. I fixed it by following the steps in this post from a few days ago, on what seems to be quite a common problem:-
Yes RCS, and the phone is a Samsung A53, and the above refers to ‘Google Messages’ where my phone just says ‘Messages’, but guided by that, I got it back working like it should in under an hour.
Should never have been that complicated, though, and there was nowhere that the original EE SIM number was associated with my account, so I don’t know why the port didn’t go completely cleanly 😢

Call EE CS and ask EE to refresh your line.
Thanks

When exactly did you port-in? If you text NUMBER to 150, what is the response?

Are these texts sending via RCS/iMessage?
Often this causes the original SIM number to appear on messages shortly after porting as it hasn't realised the number has changed yet.
What kind of device are you using?
