SIM card to active

My mobile is showing no network, I can only make calls when on WiFi. Checking other settings , phone says no Sim. So I can’t make calls, send text, use mobile data. This is no good when I am out of the house.
I’ve rebooted the iPhone, turned air plane mode off and on, cleaned the sim. Still no network.

  • Are you on EE PAYG or pay monthly contract.
  • If PAYG when did you last make a chargeable call or text.
  • Are you in the UK.
  • Is your iPhone from EE.

thanks for replying, first time posting, and I guess I missed some vital details when asking for help 🤣 

It’s EE contract iPhone pro max 13 . Will be 2 yrs old July 2023. 
yes I am in the UK 

yes iPhone is from EE shop. Last bill paid and all charges up to date. 
I went to the shop this morning, they set up a new sim, and put it in the phone, but it didn’t activate. 
they say it can take 28-48 hours to activate the sim, which isn’t ideal. 
I do have another phone, different network, tried that sim, works in my main phone, just the old sim and new sim not currently working. 
when I’m home on WiFi I can call and text, just when I’m out of the house it doesn’t work . 
If not active by Monday morning I will go back to the shop.
