New Sim not working

Hi, My old SIM stopped working so used someone else’s phone to call eve and had a new one sent to me. The lady on the phone said all I would need to do is put the new sim in and it will already be activated. The letter with the new sim also says this for replacement of faulty or damaged sim. But since putting it in my phone has had no signal at all, I can’t make or receive calls still. My phone is detecting the sim this time but just no signal. I don’t have a phone to borrow right now to call 150 so how do I get this sorted?

Hi, I’m not getting a text to send me a pin as I don’t have signal to get a text. On the letter I have it has a pin on there but it also says I don’t need to do anything but put SIM in my phone. Doesn’t give me an Orion to put in the pin I have on the letter because it says I’ve already been text a pin.
