Hi
I wonder if anyone can help. We have unlimited data. In May we went to New York. I have a Dual Sim with and EE is my work number. I switched off the EE sim installed and e-sim. I am sure data was used on that e-sim.
My daughter also went and installed the e-sim. Hers did not reduce the data.
We weren't charged for roaming on either phone.
We go again at the weekend. The rest of the family are convinced we get free roaming with unlimited data, I don't think that's the case. Can anyone confirm?
Thank you

What is the exact name of the plan you are on?
You can check personalised roaming charges via the myEE app and also via https://ee.co.uk/help/help-new/roaming-costs

Hi
It is the essential plan. I really don’t think we get data abroad included.
Thank you

There is no inclusive roaming with Essentials plans.
Furthermore, EE only allow data roaming when there is an add-on or roaming pass covering its use.

Thank you. I have subsequently discovered that the e-sim won’t work with a locked contract phone. Mine is dual sim and unlocked, my daughters is not. It explains her e-sim not working in New York, but not why we weren’t charged for her usage. Best stay quiet!,

@RyanPboro , you will only be charged for data if you pay for it, otherwise you will not be able to use data. Did you get the welcome message? This will tell you both how much the cost is, you also need to make sure that roaming is enabled on both phones via your account. Wifi will work without cost unless you are charged for wifi, but doubt you will be, that would be up to whoever you use wifi with, like restaurants, hotels, etc.
