@Jane44jane You need to look at THIS as you need to also purchase a roaming pass. You can top up via the EE app, your online account
Top up abroad
- In the EE app and go to Plans then Mobile and then select Top up
- Log in to your account, go to Home, Plans and subscriptions then Mobile and then select Top up
- Call +44 7953 966 250 and top up using a credit or debit card
- or Call 360 direct from your EE phone

In order to access Turkish networks, you need to enable roaming which is done by using your phone on EE's UK network before travelling.

@Jane44jane : When was your SIM moved to PAYG? It takes 30 days notice to cancel a contract & before it is moved to PAYG. Had that change taken place while abroad you can't now use it at all while abroad. To be used abroad EE PAYG SIMs need 1st activating on EE's home UK network. If it wasn't you can't now use it until you return to UK.
To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone
ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

- Why am I only getting a dial tone? in Pay as you go
- PAYG account set up from abroad in Pay as you go
- Multiple PAYG on one account in Pay as you go
- My payg £10 top up was declined because of receiving new bank card, i topped up in Pay as you go
- Convert from monthly contract to pay as you go porting number in Contracts & Billing
