New PAYG roaming charges from June 6

Hello .. I'm in France, arrived last week, using my rolling monthly PAYG pack with no problem for text/call/data as I have done in the past. Should I have received info by now on how to pay the new daily/weekly fee to continue to do this? Nothing received so far and I don't want to find I'm suddenly paying standard charges! Cant find any helpful info on this in my account. Advice appreciated! Many thanks.

I've just tried to use this Roaming Tool.  It's out of date, and refers to the regme prior to 6 June.

And I have to ask the obvious question, Katie_B.... Are you a real person, or simply a bot?  I ask as some of your responses appear pre-programmed, to say the least.

Hi @JV999

I am not a bot, I am a member of EE staff who works on the EE Community.

Please bare with me so I can check when the Roaming Tool will be updated regarding the new changes coming in to place.

Once I have more information I will report back.

Regarding the link provided on the texts please respond to my private message so I can look to get this fixed.

Katie.

Like others commenting here, I finally received the text this morning regarding daily/weekly payment. I sent the text as instructed to request one week (£10) as received an automated reply with lots of (for me largely irrelevant) advice but NO confirmation that my payment was accepted and 'permission' in place. Will this happen tomorrow? No payment has een taken so far. I did it today in an effort to ensure things go smoothly tomorrow ....

Please advise urgently if I need to do anything else rather than wait for potential problems...

Hi Katie,

I'm delighted to hear that you're a real person!

Re the faulty link, I've just replied to your private message.

For the record, the faulty URL is ee.co.uk/paygeuroaming

The text reads

Hi from EE from 6th June 2023 the way our network operates in the EU will change. You can use your pack allowances for A£2.50 a day by texting ROAMEU1D to 150  or A£10 for 7 days access by texting ROAMEU7D to 150.

Otherwise you will be charged 70p per min, 30p per text and need to buy a £3 500MB data pass to access data. To learn more about this and your roaming options visit ee.co.uk/paygeuroaming.

The link takes you to  a non recognised page. You will have read all the contributions to this thread. I have received no answer to my question as to how the data pass operates. Can you shed any light?

Thanks, @RMV2 : That's helpful.

If it's anything like contract, I expect you'll be offered the data pass on arrival.

Can you please explain how the data pass will work for PAYG. Is it a daily charge or until 500mb are used. I really need to know this before deciding what to do. I have asked in as many ways as I can think of without a sensible answer being forthcoming.

Thank you

This in another one that does not work from the pages that have been updated today, since the text message

Not sure if you work for EE but this is pretty poor roll out of the changes...
