Hi,

Have EE pay as you go and for years the line has worked fine abroad, now not able to make or receive phone calls or text messages while in Spain, my account shows over £5 of credit.

Any reason why???

Then after so long it certainly has gone into hibernation but you should still have time to call CS to reactivate it.

@joyraymur   Are you getting a signal on the device?   Have you tried manually searching for a network?  Have you restarted the device since you got there ?

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Yes getting signal, connected to Yoigo, no other manual settings will connect to their networks such as Vodafone/Orange etc...

Am just reading one of your posts @Chris_B that if you haven't used the sim in X number of months it could have been blocked... this could be the case (oh crumbs) its used for banking of the father in laws accounts.... what can I do???

Thanks

Your PAYG SIM could have gone into hibernation.

When did you last use it for a chargeable action? EE PAYG SIMs are deactivated after 6 months of non-use. You then have a further 3 months to call EE to reactivate it before it is lost completely.

You needed to make a chargeable action like making a chargeable call or text, topping up or buying a Pack or Add-on, not just using your mins, texts or data from your pack.

@XRaySpeXThanks for that... I've just done a £5 top up, Do you know how long does it take for the line to be activated, the online acc shows the extra credit to now over £10

If it's already gone into hibernation, doing a top-up now isn't going to wake it up. What matters is when did you last do a chargeable action?
