roaming in the EU

I added the roaming in the EU add-on for ten pounds per month. Is this charged to my account only when I use the service, or is it added to my monthly cost and taken by EE even if I don't go abroad during the month?

(This is such a simple and obvious thing that everyone will want to know that it is shameful that EE does not provide the information on their website or through My EE after you add it on. They don't allow you to speak to someone to ask directly either!)

Hi @ChrisP48

Welcome to the community.

It's a recurring £10 monthly add-on. So if you're not abroad, you would still be charged for it. I would recommend adding it just before you go and cancelling it when you get back.

Was there not a 'learn more' button next to it?

@ChrisP48 : It's charged pro-rata for the time you have it, whether you're abroad or not. It's actually £11.40 pm.

thank you, that's what I feared. But their website says £10 including VAT
Thank you Chris! Yes, there was a "learn more" button but you learned
everything about it except for the cost if you don't use it. I think it
might even be worse, you might need a month's notice to make the
cancellation effective, so you are forced to pay for two months minimum.
Anyone know if that's the case?

You can cancel it at any point, @ChrisP48 and would get refunded on the next bill for the rest of that cycle.
