UK Military Veteran Discount Help

Daz_W

Hello,

I understand that UK Military Veterans are entitled to the 20% Discount Perk.

I applied and provided proof of my Military Service by uploading a copy of my Forces Pension paperwork via the EE Perk site.

However, I’ve now just received an email that says my ID Card (I never uploaded an ID card!!) does not meet the criteria. Veterans have not yet been issued ID Cards. I uploaded a copy of my Forces Pension P60 Certificate - this proves I’m eligible as I wouldn’t be getting a Forces Pension if I hadn’t served!

Can anyone help?

Hi all.

Thanks for your patience whilst I got an update.

I can confirm that the Perk discount is available to Military Veterans. Veterans can register for EE Perk by uploading one of the following proofs along with your personal email address to the Perk Portal:

  •         Certificate of service
  •         Certificate of discharge (discharge papers)
  •         Armed forces pension

Hope this helps

Chris

Hi @Daz_W

Welcome to the community. These are the accepted proofs for Military Veteran discounts:

•           Certificate of service

•           Certificate of discharge (discharge papers)

•           Armed forces pension

I think, from what you've said, you provided the third option, which should have been accepted. Was it a good, clear copy that you sent over? Did it show your name clearly too?

Chris

Hi Chris,

 Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I upload a P60 that clearly shows my name and says ‘Armed Forces Pension’.

I’ve also just gone back to the website a loaded up a Valedictory Certificate (what we get when we leave) that shows I did 22 years service in the RAF.

Not sure what else to do! I’m about to transfer 3 mobile SIMS from Sky (already have PAC Codes) but I unless I get the 20% I won’t be able to move over.

Your help would very much be appreciated!

That was quick - approval has just come through!

Thanks

Hello,

I understand that UK Military Veterans are entitled to the 20% Discount Perk and I am trying to re validate mine as it has come up to 2 years.

I applied and provided proof of my Military Service by uploading a copy of my Forces Pension paperwork via the EE Perk site the same as I did the first time.

However, I’ve now just received an email that says my ID Card (I never uploaded an ID card!!) does not meet the criteria.

Help required please

I just came in here as I heard that as a Veteran I was entitled to a discount. I also don’t have an ID card like the majority of us, but do now get a pension. Isn’t it worth even trying? 😞 This is disgraceful if they’re not accepting pensions as proof…how on earth do they think we got one without having served!??

Hi @MMMANDBB

Historically, we have accepted Military Veterans using pension documents as proof. I'm trying to find out a bit more information and will report back here when I have some.
